The CAT-HAT

New fashion accessory hits the streets in nyc: the cat-hat

He's been seen all over new york. The east village, Times Square, and now Lincoln Center. And everywhere he goes, his cat goes too. Balancing perfectly on his bandanna clad head, the cat has a "birds-eye" view of the world. How does he get him to stay up there? He trained him of course!

We spotted him talking to some cops. We wondered, is this guy getting arrested for having a cat out without a leash? Although it doesn't look like he is going anywhere... After we snapped this picture he came over to us asking for money or food. After we declined he looked at us with his crazy eyes and said: "Well, at least next time ask purr-dy". I guess he can get camera shy if he doesn't get anything out of the deal. We calmly waited with the cops until he left. And we watched him walk several blocks away, his cat sitting majestically perched on his thrown the entire time, graciously accepting glances from his adoring onlookers.

Turns out, several of my co-workers have also heard of this guy, and apparently there is a 'cat on the head' copycat out there. I wonder who the original was, and how he ever thought to try to train his cat to sit on his head. Every cat I have ever met wouldn't stay put long enough for me to pet him, let alone train him to do something like this. This man must have patience, and the cat must have good balancing skills (a given, given the species). The man was on the lookout for money and food, so he must have a lot of time on his hands to practice and, I must say, master, such a skill. If you see him, please help him out. His cat is hungry. And purrdy please, ask before you take a picture.
